  • downpour

needless to say, my sleep schedule has been completely thrown off by these past two weeks of not-sleeping-and-getting-up-every-two-hours lovely protocol. not that i wasn't an insomniac before, but this isn't helping.

but the one good part was that i was completely awake when the thunderstorm hit boston roughly around 4 am this morning. it started with flashes of white light - like the kinds you see on scene sets and movie screens - and then these horrific crashes of sound that you could feel reverberate within your chest walls. after about half an hour of this - at which point all three of my fast asleep roommates jumped out of bed - the sky started hurling sheets of water down upon the earth, namely against the windows and off the roofs, only this water was frozen and the you could hear the hail bounce its way down the street. such an epic, epic storm.

maybe i'll head over to the ica later today, and watch the storm from inside those glass walls.

found this lovely website that sends sections of novels daily via email or rss feed - now i'm subscribed to over fifty books that i've been meaning to read (or re-read). then i got an email saying that i've subscribed to too many books, so i limited myself to five. good ones at that too. ah, glorious. the next step is getting a card for the copley library - then i'll have unlimited access to all the books i'll ever want.

also played the piano for the first time in a long time yesterday. practiced a little bit of the ravel sonatine, which might be my favorite piano piece of the moment. got to love that french impressionism. downloaded a little more sheet music for violin and piano, and some jam music to go along with it. somebody needs to invent a device that displays electronic copies of music so i don't have to print them out - it also has to be able to record markings and sit on a stand. wouldn't that be just lovely? oh wait, found one; and it's more than what my wallet can handle.

found out ss might be here right now, and even the bro commented. don't know if he's going to try to contact me since he hinted he might, or if i'm going to pretend i don't even know.

the saddest part is that i never told him that i loved him. didn't want to be the one to push him to feel that way, didn't want to be that needy girl who needs to hear it out loud. maybe he never did.

    baby i've been here before
i've seen this room and i've walked this floor
i used to live alone before i knew you
i've seen your flag on the marble arch
but love is not a victory march
    it's a cold and it's a broekn hallelujah
